SAFE Communities

Mission Statement: Our mission is to serve the local community through education to help enact positive change that will create a safe environment for all.

The purpose of Safe Communities is education focused to create a better informed community to help understand addiction in order to prevent it.

We serve the general population with a main focus on youth in Perkins and Meade counties, but we can offer our services to Corson, Dewey and Ziebach counties as well.

Right now we offer evidence-based curriculum called LifeSkills, which is available for students in grades 3rd-9th. QPR providing suicide prevention training and soon Catch My Breath, another evidence-based curriculum, and INDEPTH which focuses on people who are addicted to nicotine who want help quitting.

We host monthly community Lunch-n-Learns where we serve lunch and create discussions with the community on our topic for the month. Safe Communities is very active during Lemmon's annual 'Boss Cownman' celebration. On Thursday we host a picnic lunch event and Saturday we partner with Lemmon High School volleyball team to host a grass volleyball tournament.

Safe Communities also serves the community during nights of Boss Cowman where we check IDs for the general public.
